Reflexology is a therapy which involves using the thumb and fingers to apply pressure to the feet and/or hands. There are areas on the hands and feet that relate to organs, glands and systems of the body.  These specific areas are known as reflex points – working these areas enables a response in the corresponding organ, gland and/or body system.

Reflexology is a holistic healing technique.  Consideration is given to the individual’s mind, body and spirit when giving a treatment and therefore a thorough consultation is carried out as part of the first treatment.  This guides the treatment, however reflexologists always treat the whole body.

We will want to restore all our clients to good health but the client must believe in the treatment. There is no such thing as an instant cure – healing is a process.  It is important to remember that the reflexologist doesn’t heal – our aim is the help the body to heal itself.

It is important to wear loose clothing around the lower part of the legs and ankles, as the lower leg and calf area are worked too.   All you have to do is remove your socks, tights and shoes, lay back and relax. The treatment is very relaxing and in some cases clients have been known to drift off to sleep.

The first session will last about an hour and a quarter as this includes a consultation when you will be asked routine questions about your medical history, diet and lifestyle. Please answer the questions as fully as possible as this will help determine the pattern of your treatment.

We usually recommend a course of treatments, four initially. After approximately four treatments the reflexology will have had a chance to work and you should be feeling the benefits. Some clients then prefer to have a regular ‘top up’ at either fortnightly, monthly or six weekly intervals in order to maintain the improvement. However it is entirely up to you.

Healthy workplace programme
Many days in the workplace are lost due to stress, anxiety and in many cases minor ailments or viral infections such as common colds.  These could potentially be alleviated or prevented through regular maintenance of the body’s immune system and psychological well being.

Reflexology provides treatment from head to toe and can effectively contribute to employee moral, positive attitudes and a corresponding reduction in absenteeism.
